Melissa Myers has an easy way to deal with stress: she grabs people and throws them around. It's a disciplined form of release—the University of Iowa sophomore is a longtime judo competitor, one who will represent the U.S. in the upcoming World Judo Championships.

Hancher to present the Brentano String Quartet on Oct. 17

The University of Iowa’s Hancher will present the Brentano String Quartet on Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Riverside Recital Hall (405 N. Riverside Drive) in Iowa City. The concert is a collaboration with the UI String Quartet Residency Program.

When Logan Brown was just 20 hours old, his doctors noticed a blood clot near a large vein that carries blood to his heart. He was transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, where pediatric specialists discovered other challenges.

Dey receives NSF grant for her research project

Mason lands $240,000 NSF grant
