UI researchers propose technique for measuring weak or nonexistent magnetic fields

Researchers at the University of Iowa have proposed a new approach to sampling materials with weak or no magnetic fields. The method could help advance research in a host of fields, from computing to MRI machines. The results were published in the journal “Physical Review Letters.”

Iowa KidSight, a partnership between University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and Lions Club volunteers across the state, screens young children for vision issues including farsightedness, nearsightedness, differences in refractive errors, astigmatism, things inside the eye (such as cataracts), and muscle imbalances.

Longtime Hancher tradition returns as Youth Art Show puts community’s creativity on display

Hancher Auditorium will shortly become a visual arts gallery filled with works by the youth of Iowa City, Coralville, Hills, and North Liberty. The Hancher Guild Youth Art Show, held annually until floodwaters destroyed the original Hancher Auditorium in 2008, returns to the University of Iowa campus on March 6.
