UI students studying abroad and international students in Iowa City have had their photos selected for the 2017 International Programs Annual Photo Contest as part of International Education Week. The UI was also one of only four U.S. schools to receive the 2017 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization.

A study by Kang Zhao, assistant professor of management sciences in the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, shows that participation in a smoking-cessation online community can help smokers quit, and that their level of activity in said can predict whether they can successfully kick the habit.
