The University of Iowa School of Music will present a free recital by Volkan Orhon, UI associate professor of double bass, and pianist Rose Chancler at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. The program will include works by Nicholas Walker, David Anderson, Giovanni Bottesini, Gaspor Cassado, and César Franck.

Spark also will give a lecture called “That’s Funny” at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Frank Conroy Reading Room of the Glenn Schaeffer Library, adjacent to the Dey House.
