The University of Iowa has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a leader in green power use and is ranked No. 21 on EPA’s Top 30 On-site Generation list of largest green power users.

Josh Frahm teaches STEP (Student to Employed Professional), a brand-new, for-credit course aimed at University of Iowa students who are starting out in part-time jobs during school. The goal: make a college job the foundation for a career.

Veteran Vitality 2013 will be Monday, Nov. 11, and includes a 6,000-flag display, a kickoff celebration, a series of panels, and a luau.

One lane of northbound traffic on U.S. Highway 6, from the C. Maxwell Stanley Hydraulics Laboratory to Burlington Street, will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Jeff Weld, who earned three degrees from the University of Iowa, was named recipient of the 2013 Yager Educational Accomplishment Honor, presented annually to the College of Education graduate who has demonstrated significant accomplishment or innovation in the K-12 setting. The award presentation will take place Tuesday, Nov. 19.
