Divers installed new flashboards on top of the Iowa River Burlington Street dam earlier this week. The flashboards raise the level of the dam slightly, which provides for a slightly higher water level for the water plant intake. Based on duck behavior, it appears as though the new flashboards make catching dinner just a little bit easier as well.
