Class offers tips for family caregivers of older adults

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a course designed to empower family caregivers of older adults to take better care of themselves. The tools learned in the six-week series benefit caregivers by helping them reduce stress, improve caregiving confidence, establish balance in their lives, communicate their needs, make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources.

About 150 Iowa students attended the 2014 Iowa Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium hosted Thursday and today by the UI College of Education’s Belin-Blank Center; 15 of the students presented original research, and nine UI colleges, departments, or facilities gave lab tours.
