Panel to discuss polarization in U.S. Congress April 24

The UI Department of Political Science will sponsor a public forum Thursday, April 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Old Brick Auditorium, 26 E. Market St. The forum, “Congress Divided, Really?!” will feature a panel of former U.S. representatives, political consultants, and campaign strategists.

A group of UI students has launched a campus chapter of Food Recovery Network, a nationwide program that helps students collect surplus food on their campus and donate it to organizations that feed the hungry in their area.

The UI Center for Teaching and ITS-Instructional Services are sponsoring a Faculty Institute, "Releasing Your Inner Performer: Strategies for Memorable Classroom Delivery" on May 19-20. The institute will provide an opportunity to learn, practice, and perhaps perfect a variety of classroom presentation skills.

Suicide claims the lives of more than 1,100 college students each year. On Tuesday, April 22, the UI will host a suicide awareness display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Pentacrest west lawn.
