The University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA) set an all-time museum record for for participation and attendance at events during the 2013-14 academic year. The UIMA drew 538,260 people, significantly surpassing the previous historical record of 146,470 for 2012-13.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching selected the UI to receive its 2015 Community Engagement Classification, based on the university's commitment and involvement to the community.
