The inflatable "Bubble" training facility attached to the Hayden Fry Football Complex had its last gasp on Friday, April 20, deflated after 27 years of use by several UI athletics teams, primarily the football squad. A new building will reside on the Kenyon Football Practice Facility.

As a competitor and coach, bronze wasn't acceptable for Dan Gable. On Wednesday, that metal fit fine in the form of a statue that was unveiled outside the entrance to Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
