An estimated 400 students are enrolled in the recreation and sport business program this semester, with the majority focusing on sports management: “There is no question that sports and recreation management has boomed,” says Mike Teague, a professor of health and human services.

Sixty girls roamed the UI Seamans Center Saturday for the second Black Girls Do Science, a day camp for fourth- to eighth-graders to dispel stereotypes and to allow girls interested in the science, technology, engineering, and math to experiment in these areas.

Young inventors present big ideas April 19

Iowa’s brightest elementary students will present their inventions at the 27th annual Invent Iowa competition Saturday, April 19, from 12:30 to 4:20 p.m. The event will take place at the Blank Honors Center on the University of Iowa campus and is free and open to the public.
