The co-chairs of a committee tasked with selecting the next University of Iowa associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean of the Graduate College are seeking internal applications for the position.

All tenured full professors at Iowa are eligible to apply for the position. The associate provost and dean is the chief academic, executive, and fiscal officer for the Graduate College and reports to the executive vice president and provost. This position is a full-time, fiscal year (12-month) appointment anticipated to begin July 1, 2025, and continuing through June 30, 2030, assuming successful annual reviews. Applications are due by March 14.

Joining co-chairs Ann McKenna, dean of the College of Engineering, and Adam Dupuy, associate professor of anatomy and cell biology, on the search committee will be: 

  • Saba Ali, associate dean for research and professor of counseling psychology, College of Education
  • Sheila Baldwin, senior vice president for development, UI Center for Advancement
  • Nick Benson, executive director, UI Office of Community Engagement
  • Mark Berg, professor of sociology and criminology and director of the UI Center for Social Science Innovation
  • Kyleakin Helm-Kwansy, graduate student, biomedical science, Carver College of Medicine
  • John Logsdon, associate professor of biology, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
  • Sara Pettit, academic affairs coordinator, Graduate College
  • Haifeng Qian, director and professor, School of Planning and Public Affairs
  • Divya Rathi, postdoctoral research scholar, Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, Carver College of Medicine

The next dean will succeed Amanda Haertling Thein, who announced in January she accepted the position of dean at the University of Colorado Boulder School of Education.
