UI recreation facilities to be closed for training

All University of Iowa Recreational Services facilities—including the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center and the Field House—will be closed from noon Wednesday, Aug. 21 to noon Thursday, Aug. 22.

Kinnick, Gable statue sculptor dies at 48

Lawrence Nowlan Jr., the artist behind the University of Iowa’s two celebrated Nile Kinnick statues, a Dan Gable statue and other work on campus, died at his home in New Hampshire last week at 48.
