Wendy F. Hensel, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, will visit campus on April 19—20 to meet with faculty, staff, and students. Hensel’s curriculum vitae and full interview schedule are available on the UI presidential search website and on the Board of Regents website.

Hensel will participate in an open forum at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 19.

Due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, a limited number of people will be allowed to attend in person. However, the forum will be live streamed on the UI presidential search website and the Board of Regents website.

Information about how to obtain a ticket to attend the open forum in person and how to ask a question of the candidate during the forum can be found on the UI presidential search website.

Hensel is one of four finalists invited to participate in on-campus interviews. The name of each candidate will be announced at 8 a.m. the day before their interview begins on IowaNow, the presidential search website, and the Board of Regents website.

Members of campus and the community can share their feedback on the finalists via the presidential search website. Feedback for all candidates will be accepted through 5 p.m. Monday, April 26.

The Board of Regents plans to meet on April 29—30 at the UI to hear from the search committee and interview the finalists, with the selection of the next UI president made on April 30.

The Board of Regents is a group of nine citizen volunteers who govern the state’s three public universities and two special K-12 entities—the Iowa School for the Deaf and Iowa Educational Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired—through policymaking, coordination and oversight.
