The University of Iowa School of Music will present a free concert by Johnson County Landmark—performing the music of John Rapson, director of jazz studies in the UI School of Music—at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City. The concert marks Rapson’s 20th anniversary at the UI School of Music.

Dancers in Company, the University of Iowa Department of Dance's resident touring company, is traveling throughout Iowa and the Midwest this spring, performing live concerts and lecture demonstrations for audiences of all ages. 'Iowa Now' traveled with the troupe to Indian Hills Community College to document the dancers' well-rounded experience.

Center for New Music Ensemble to perform April 21

The Center for New Music Ensemble, featuring guest composer Hans Tutschku of Harvard University, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. The program will feature three compositions by Tutschku, along with works by Bert Van Herck (visiting assistant professor in the UI School of Music) and Gérard Grisey.
