UI alumnus Al Jarreau, singer who spanned jazz, pop, and R&B worlds, dies at 76

Al Jarreau, a versatile vocalist who sold millions of records and won a string of Grammys, died on Feb. 12 in Los Angeles. He was 76. Jarreau earned a master’s in vocational rehabilitation from the University of Iowa in 1964.

Pomerantz Career Center classes help liberal arts students find jobs

Kreder receives Victor A. Politano Award from the American Urological Association

Karl Kreder, professor of urology and Rubin H. Flocks Chair, has received the Victor A. Politano Award from the American Urological Association for his research and clinical excellence in urinary incontinence. The award, presented annually, is given to an individual for outstanding achievements in the field and for enhancing the treatment of incontinent patients.

UI teaches business skills to medical students

The University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine and Tippie College of Business have teamed up to offer classes that teach business basics to medical students so they have a better idea of the business side of medicine when they go into practice.
