At the University of Iowa, Sam Van Horne, assessment director in the university’s Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology, and his staff members run a big-data project that provides students and instructors in certain courses with continually updated dashboards of information, including a forecast of the student's final grade.

UI Libraries announces May 12 deadline for requesting books from Main Library storage

UI researchers document how melanoma tumors form

University of Iowa researchers have documented for the first time how melanoma cells form tumors. The team reports the process is similar to that of breast cancer cells, and they have successfully screened for two antibodies that stopped tumor formation in both cancers. Results published in the journal “PLOS One.”

Researchers with Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa report promising results from a phase 1 clinical trial.
