Hancher footbridge closed for emergency repairs

The Hancher footbridge will be closed Nov. 9-16 for emergency repairs to a water main. Pedestrians should use the Iowa Memorial Union footbridge as an alternate route during the closure.

Female enrollment in STEM fields rises

The number of women seeking degrees in science and related fields at Iowa's three public universities is on the rise, Iowa Board of Regents data shows. UI Provost Barry Butler says that outreach programs to third, fourth, and fifth grade girls are now showing results.
