Project Art to present Salaam performance Dec. 16

The performing arts component of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Project Art will present a concert of Middle Eastern and North African music by Salaam at noon Monday, Dec. 16, in the atrium of the John Colloton Pavilion at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The performance is free and open to the public.

Zach Zwirlein of Coal Valley, Ill., was diagnosed with medium chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (MCAD) deficiency through the Iowa Neonatal Metabolic Screening Program, a partnership of the genetics program at UI Children's Hospital, the Iowa Department of Public Health, and the State Hygienic Laboratory.
History buffs retracing Iowa's role in civil rights movement

David McCartney, University of Iowa archivist, has formed a group of historians, archivists, librarians, activists, and others from across Iowa to document Iowa’s history in the civil rights era by collecting oral interviews, journals, photos, letters, and any other memorabilia.

UI Museum of Natural History closed Nov. 26-27 for sewer fix

The University of Iowa Museum of Natural History will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 26 and 27, so workers can repair a sanitary sewer line. The museum, located in Macbride Hall in the UI’s Pentacrest, will resume normal hours Friday, Nov. 29, following the Thanksgiving holiday.
