UI students named to President's List for fall 2013

Some 300 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the President's List for the 2013 fall semester. The UI is partnering with Merit, the flagship software created by read Media in New York, to promote and recognize outstanding student achievement on campus.

More than 200 University of Iowa students, faculty, staff, and community members gathered for a listening session on sexual assault and misconduct Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Iowa Memorial Union, where many, including UI President Sally Mason, shared personal experiences about sex assault.

About 150 Iowa students attended the 2014 Iowa Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium hosted Thursday and today by the UI College of Education’s Belin-Blank Center; 15 of the students presented original research, and nine UI colleges, departments, or facilities gave lab tours.

The University of Iowa will sponsor "Lessons in Drag" on Sunday, March 2, a performance that raises issues of gender and explores South Asian popular culture. The performance will be followed by a next-day panel discussion on March 3, exploring India's penal code that has widely been understood to criminalize homosexuality.
Mainstage Series to present 'Absurd Person Singular'

The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts will produce "Absurd Person Singular," a ferociously funny play by the master of British comedy, Alan Ayckbourn, as its next Mainstage production.
