Monumental Homecoming tradition returns to UI campus

A group of students from the University of Iowa College of Engineering erected a 24-by-16-foot corn monument in the shape of a capital “I” on the west side of the Pentacrest Monday.

Roberts named director of UI Pentacrest Museums

Trina Roberts, a biologist who has often used museum collections to aid her research, has been named director of the University of Iowa Pentacrest Museums, which include the UI Museum of Natural History and the Old Capitol Museum.

Members of the media are invited to tour the Kirkwood Regional Center Thursday, Oct. 8, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., prior to the grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony. They will see an environmentally engineered building with welding and factory-equipment simulators, health-care labs, and robots built by area students.
