University of Iowa students got to spend time up close with state lawmakers this spring as part of a new Iowa Environmental Policy in Practice course, offered through the Department of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds visited the University of Iowa campus today, Tuesday, May 20, to meet with shared governance leaders and faculty involved in entrepreneurial work. During the visit, Branstad and Reynolds toured the new John and Mary Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building, which is scheduled to open in June.

Hit the road, faculty. About 30 UI researchers and scholars travel this week to northeast and southeast Iowa to meet with civic, education, political, and business leaders, part of the annual Faculty Engagement Corps, now in its ninth year.

Thousands of students officially became University of Iowa alums this weekend, as commencement ceremonies took place across campus.
