Biography

Ann Marie McCarthy's pediatric clinical experience has been in general pediatrics, community health centers and pediatric neurology. After receiving her PhD in Educational Psychology and Pediatric Psychology from the University of Iowa and completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at the UI Hospitals and Clinics, McCarthy became a licensed psychologist. She teaches research methods and children in schools. Her research area of interest is children with chronic health conditions, with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral interventions for pain management in children and children with chronic conditions in the school setting.
