The University of Iowa search committee for the new associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean of the Graduate College has selected three final candidates. The candidates will participate in open forums during the first week of May and meet with faculty, staff, students, shared governance, and campus leadership.

The names of each candidate will be announced the day before they are scheduled for an open forum. At that time, the candidate’s curriculum vitae will be made available on the associate provost and Graduate College dean search website.
UI Executive Vice President and Provost Kevin Kregel named search committee co-chairs and committee members in March. Associate Provost and Dean John Keller, the longest-serving Graduate College dean in the Big Ten, announced March 4 he plans to step down on July 31. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, later announced Keller will serve as interim president of the university beginning May 17.
The position of associate provost and dean of the Graduate College is filled internally, and is open to tenured full professors at the UI.
Appointment of the next associate provost and dean is anticipated by July 1.
