The University of Iowa welcomed new students—including what’s expected to be another record-breaking first-year class—with five days of events as part of the On Iowa! program. 

From Aug. 19 to 23, the program offered everything from yoga in Hubbard Park to canoeing on the Iowa River. Thousands of students also attended On Iowa!'s major events such as the annual Kickoff at Kinnick, Convocation, and President’s Block Party. 

This was the fifth year for the On Iowa! program. Students receive a comprehensive introduction to UI life, including the skills necessary to be a successful student within and beyond the classroom.

“On Iowa! provides us with the chance to introduce our first-year and transfer students to campus, and to teach them about the people and experiences that make the University of Iowa a special place,” says Lon Moeller, UI associate provost for undergraduate education and dean of University College.
