Gregory Carmichael

Gregory Carmichael, a professor of chemical and biochemical engineering and director of the University of Iowa Informatics Initiative, is one of 62 members of the 2018 Class of American Geophysical Union Fellows.

AGU fellows are selected based on their exemplary leadership abilities and research contributions in the Earth and space fields. Only 0.1 percent of AGU membership receives the recognition in any given year. The AGU Fellows award was established in 1962 to celebrate the work of members who have fundamentally advanced research in their respective fields.

The 62 new AGU fellows will be honored at the AGU's annual Fall Meeting to be held December 12 in Washington, D.C.
