The Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) footbridge will be closed to all pedestrian traffic from March 3-17. Alternate pedestrian river crossings are located at the Hancher footbridge to the north, or Iowa Avenue to the south. This closure is necessary to construct a temporary ramp to the IMU footbridge.

Pedestrians should also be aware that additional sidewalk closures/detours will be in place along the east side of the Iowa River near Danforth Chapel and the IMU through the remainder of February continuing until mid March. People should follow detour signs and allow extra time to reach their destination. These modifications are necessary as part of the IMU Flood Mitigation and Permanent Recovery project and IMU footbridge project.
