Chemistry and physics are central scientific disciplines that help us understand the "how" of almost everything.

As part of the Geneva Forum: Pursuing the Good, the True, and the Beautiful, Christopher Cheatum, UI associate professor of chemistry, and John Humston, UI doctoral student in chemistry, will present “How Does that Work? A Brief Tour of the World Through the Eyes of a Chemist” from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the Ohio State Room (343) of the Iowa Memorial Union.

In the talk, the two will share their passion for understanding how things work and how a few concepts from chemistry and physics can help us understand some beautiful parts of our world. The event is free and open to the public.
