The Partnership for Alcohol Safety will discuss whether to take a position in favor of Iowa City’s 21-only ordinance for alcohol consumption at its bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 2390 of the University Capitol Centre in the Old Capitol Town Center in downtown Iowa City.

Other agenda items include reports on meetings with alcohol licensees, on a Party Patrol communications campaign that is currently under way, and on a Mystery Shopper program that might be used to help bars and restaurants improve ID checking skills.

The Partnership for Alcohol Safety is a joint project of the University of Iowa and the City of Iowa City. Its mission is to identify and advocate for strategies that reduce high-risk drinking and promote a vibrant downtown.
