Hey, University of Iowa students—here’s your once-a-semester chance to get connected. Fair Day hits the Iowa Memorial Union Wednesday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The giant event combines the Student Organization Fair, Volunteer Fair, and Student Job Fair. More than 200 organizations, agencies, and employers will be on hand to meet with students and share what they’re all about.
“There’s no better way to find out what’s happening on campus and in the community,” says Eric Rossow, coordinator for information management at the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership ( CSIL). “Whatever your interest, it’s a great chance to get involved.”
Participating student organizations cover virtually every topic—sports, academics, careers, faith, politics, cultural diversity, and more. Prospective volunteers can sign up with causes from across campus and throughout the community.
Need a part-time job? Fair Day has you covered on that front, too. Employers looking for student help include UI Hospitals and Clinics, Sports Marketing, Cambus, and dozens of others.
Fair Day sponsors include CSIL, the Division of Student Life, UI Student Government, Students Today Leaders Forever, the 10,000 Hours Show, the Executive Council of Graduate and Professional Students, the Office of Student Financial Aid, and Hills Bank.
Students who can’t make it to Fair Day can browse student organizations on the CSIL website and view employment postings on Jobnet.
