With little rainfall over the weekend, and no substantial precipitation forecast for at least the first part of the week ahead, the Iowa River continues to recede.
Over the weekend, the City of Iowa City reopened the southbound lanes of Dubuque Street to two-way traffic after cleaning up silt and debris left over from localized flooding earlier this month. However, drivers should be aware that the Dubuque Street exit ramp for westbound traffic on Interstate 80 is currently closed because of an Iowa Department of Transportation project.
Outflow from Coralville Lake, down to 701.02 feet elevation, is 10,000 cubic feet per second (cfs), and inflow to the lake is 5,300 cfs.
University of Iowa staff continue to monitor buildings and are beginning to discuss plans for reopening some of the buildings closed when floods first threatened this spring, including the Beckwith Boathouse.
