The University of Iowa Old Capitol Museum will host a Piano Sundays concert at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7, in the Senate Chamber. This free, public concert marks the last of the Piano Sundays 2012-2013 series.
UI Professor Rene Lecuona will perform select pieces and will be joined by four of her students: Douglass Baker, Haoyang Yan, Eunjin Lee, and Soo Yeon Kang. They will perform selections from Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Brahms, and Ginastera.

Now in its seventh year, the Piano Sundays concert series showcases UI faculty and students performing on a restored 1878 Centennial Style Steinway Concert Grand piano, also known as Rose.
Lecuona is a professor of piano in the UI School of Music and has performed for Piano Sundays since its start in 2007. She earned a doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance and was awarded a performer’s certificate at the Eastman School of Music. She received undergraduate and master's degrees at the Indiana University School of Music. Her playing has been featured on many compact discs, including a recording of the music of Margaret Brouwer (CRI label), which won the 2000 Contemporary Art Music Burton Award.
The UI School of Music is a unit of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
