Ring in the New Year with old friends at the next University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA) First Friday reception from 5-7 p.m. on Jan. 4, at hotelVetro in downtown Iowa City.

For $5, enjoy drink specials, light hors d’oeuvres, and explore artwork by members of the talented UIMA staff, who not only love studying and sharing art from the museum’s 14,000-object collection but also are working artists themselves. Get to know another side of the UIMA and its broadly creative team and celebrate the New Year with a party for art!

Acoustic rock trio All Night Kitchen will provide music for the event. In addition, a do-it-yourself art station will be available for guests to create and display work—so bring the whole family!
