Enjoy a night of spooky fun that's free and open to the public when the University of Iowa Pentacrest Museums and the Department of Geoscience host the eighth annual Creepy Campus Crawl Friday, Oct. 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Activities for the crawl are aimed at families with children, but all are welcome to attend at any or all of three locations:
UI Museum of Natural History: "Super Natural History Brothers!"
Guests can play games with Sonic and Mario in Mammal Hall, match the Pokemon in Iowa Hall, and build a rocket out of recycled materials with Olimar and his Pikmin. Children will be able to meet their favorite video game characters while making crafts, playing games, and collecting goodies. The Museum of Natural History and UI museum studies students will take natural history to the next level!
Department of Geoscience: "Monsters of Rock!"
Make your own rock monster with the Department of Geoscience in Macbride Hall. Discover the unknown in a monster fossil excavation, and test your monster knowledge with a trivia quiz. Sponsored by the Department of Geoscience, Sigma Gamma Epsilon, the UI Paleontology Repository, and the Iowa Geological and Water Survey.
Old Capitol Museum: "Myth, Magic and Monsters!"
Come to where the wild things are to show off your costume, and be sure to stick around for the exhibits, plays, stories, movies, and more. The Old Capitol is working with Jen Shook and Adele Holoch’s Interpretation of Literature classes and museum studies students.
