Registration is open for the second session of University of Iowa Recreational Services’ fall tennis classes. Classes for all ages begin the week of October 28.
Adult classes cover basic strokes and strategy with drills and play. Beginner, advanced beginner/intermediate, and intermediate classes are available. Fees are $78 for Recreational Services members, and $90 for nonmembers. Tennis leagues, cardio tennis, and United States Tennis Association drill groups are also available for both members and nonmembers.
Youth classes include Tiny Tots (ages 4-5), Herky (ages 5-7), Black I (ages 8-12), Black II (ages 8-12), Gold I (8-12), Hawk I (ages 12-18), and Gold II (ages 13-18), as well as a Junior League Play and QuickStart Play Days.
Advanced students may enroll in the Hawkeye Tennis Academy to prepare for United States Tennis Association tournaments. The classes are: Academy Level 3 (ages 7-12), Academy Level 2 (ages 9-16) and Academy Level 1 (ages 13-18).
All classes are held at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex, 2820 Prairie Meadows Dr., Iowa City.
