The University of Iowa Division of Continuing Education has announced the names of students receiving scholarships for fall 2012.

The following three scholarship programs are available through the division: the Robert Ray staff scholarship, the Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) and Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS) Community College Transfer Scholarship, and the Division of Continuing Education Scholarship.

Following is a list of scholarship awardees.

Cassandra Hanes of Coralville received the Robert Ray Staff Scholarship, which is awarded to a UI staff member who wishes to begin or continue their undergraduate studies at the UI.

The BAS and BLS Community College Transfer Scholarships are awarded to community college students transferring to the online BAS or BLS degree programs. Following are the recipients: Lu Ann Boehn, Iowa Western Community College (IWCC); Jessica Detlefsen, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC); Rachel Grager, Kirkwood Community College; Jena Halverson, Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC); Suzanne Haxton, North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC); Debra Mills, Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD); Barb Pieper, Western Iowa Technical Community College (WIT); and Shelly Pope, Indian Hills Community College (IHCC).

The Division of Continuing Education Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in the online BAS or BLS degree programs. The following students received this scholarship: Rachel Kunde of Tipton, Iowa; Charity Richardson of Libertyville, Iowa; Travis Teach of Inwood, Iowa; and Cherie Willenbring of Dyersville, Iowa.
