Stanley Perlman, physician and professor of microbiology and immunology in the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, has been appointed to the Mark Stinski Chair in Virology. The Stinski Chair was created in 2010 as the endowed chair in immunology. In 2015, the chair was named after Stinski, who developed and commercialized the cytomegalovirus promoter, a tool to promote the expression of proteins that are important in the production of vaccines and therapeutic drugs.
