Jacob Odgaard, professor of civil and environmental engineering and faculty research engineer at IIHR--Hydroscience & Engineering (ASCE), has been selected to receive the 2015 Karl Emil Hilgard Hydraulic Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers for his paper, "Baffle-Drop Structure Design Relationships," Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, September 2013.  The committee particularly noted the contribution to hydraulic engineering made by the paper, which is co-authored by Troy Lyons, IIHR director of engineering services, and Andrew Craig, IIHR hydraulic engineer.

Odgaard will be honored during the World Environmental and Water Resources Congress May 17-21 in Austin, Texas. Karl Emil Hilgard was a Swiss hydraulician and sponsor of the ASCE Paper Award.
