Dear campus community,
As you know, recent developments at the federal government level have the potential to impact various aspects of our university’s academic, operational, and financial landscape. We want to assure you that we are actively monitoring these changes and taking proactive steps to advocate on behalf of our university.
Our team is working closely with our congressional delegation, relevant state and federal government agencies, legal experts, and associations such as the Association of American Universities (AAU), Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). This work will ensure that our campus remains informed and aligned with any new policies or regulations that may arise. We also are providing data and examples of negative impact to our various partners who are working at the federal level. We understand that these changes may raise questions or concerns, and we are committed to providing timely updates and clear guidance as the situation evolves.
The university will provide updates as they occur on the UI’s federal update page and will share information in the Iowa Now email on a weekly basis.
We will continue to make every effort to minimize disruptions while ensuring compliance with federal mandates. Should you have any specific questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the leadership of your unit or to one of us directly.
Thank you,
Barbara J. Wilson
