A University of Iowa search committee has announced the third candidate for the next dean of the College of Law.
Lumen (Lou) N. Mulligan is dean and professor of law at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law. Prior to his current role, Mulligan served as interim vice provost for faculty affairs at the University of Kansas, as well as Earl B. Shurtz Research Professor of Law at the University of Kansas School of Law. He is also a senior fellow in the Rodel Public Leadership Program, helping create curricula and lead sessions with state and federal judges across the ideological spectrum to build capacity and jurisprudential discourse.
Mulligan will meet with faculty, staff, students, shared governance, and campus leadership during a campus visit Dec. 9—10. He will participate in an open forum from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, in the Levitt Auditorium (room 295) of Boyd Law Building, 130 Byington Road. Attendance via Zoom also is available.
