A University of Iowa search committee has announced the second candidate for the next dean of the College of Law.
Melissa Mortazavi is the Second Century Presidential Professor of Law at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in Norman, Oklahoma, where she also served as associate dean for academic affairs from July 2022 to August 2024. Her areas of expertise are torts, professional responsibility, administrative law, and agricultural and food law.
Mortazavi will meet with faculty, staff, students, shared governance, and campus leadership during a campus visit Dec. 5—6. She will participate in an open forum from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Levitt Auditorium (room 295) of Boyd Law Building, 130 Byington Road. Attendance via Zoom also is available.
