If you thought you saw Sandra Bullock on campus, you were probably wrong. It was more likely Tippie College of Business associate professor of practice Peggy Stover.

“Many years ago, I was stopped by a group of foreign tourists in Los Angeles who did not believe me when I told them I was not Sandra Bullock,” Stover says.

On Monday, the university’s Instagram account (you can find it by searching @uiowa) featured some of our faculty and staff—and their celebrity lookalikes. 

Others featured include Dan Thedens, co-director of the MRI Research Facility located at the Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging. Some think he resembles Christopher Lloyd (think Doc Brown from Back to the Future).

“Yes, I have had that comparison, though more likely when I went a couple years without a haircut after COVID,” Thedens says. “The more frequent comparison has been singer-songwriter James Taylor.”
