Sara Sullivan, senior associate registrar for strategic initiatives at the University of Iowa, recently attended the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Congressional Hill Day in Washington, D.C., to engage with congressional offices and discuss their work as practitioners and how policy impacts the work they do.
The event on July 21—23 brought together higher education professionals from across the nation to engage directly with lawmakers and advocate for crucial policies affecting higher education.
Advocates met with members of Congress and their staff to discuss key issues. Their efforts were instrumental in raising awareness and fostering dialogue on policies that impact students, faculty, and institutions nationwide.
AACRAO Congressional Hill Day provides a unique platform for professionals to connect with legislators, offering firsthand insights into the challenges and opportunities within the education sector.
Sullivan has served the Office of the Registrar at Iowa since May 2015.
