Tuesday, April 25, 2023

Editor’s note: This story was updated to reflect the current rankings for law and medical schools, which were released later than rankings for other colleges and programs.

Forty-four University of Iowa colleges and programs were recognized among the best in their field in the U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings for 2024. Five of these programs received a top-10 ranking in this year’s report.

Each year, U.S. News ranks professional school programs in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, engineering, law, medicine, nursing, and public health. Not all programs are ranked annually, but Iowa continues to excel, with 24 total colleges and programs among the top 25 in the nation according to their most recent ranking.

This year’s graduate schools rankings were released in two parts. The first included academic reputation rankings for graduate and/or doctoral programs in business, chemistry, computer science, earth science, education, engineering, health care management, mathematics, nursing, physician assistant, physics, public affairs, public health, rehabilitation counseling, and veterinary medicine. The second included rankings in law and medical schools.
