The search for the next dean of the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business is being extended to allow for on-campus visits in the fall, the search committee co-chairs announced Thursday.

Three finalists participated in virtual campus visits during late April and early May, but the search committee determined in-person visits are preferable.

Because it’s still unclear when traveling and gathering will be safe, the committee, along with Executive Vice President and Provost Montse Fuentes, decided to postpone the finalist visits to campus until fall and will continue working to attract a diverse pool of outstanding candidates.

“I am grateful to the search committee and to faculty and staff in the Tippie College of Business for their continued engagement in this important search,” Fuentes says.

Members of campus who would like to submit nominations for the position should email UIowaTippieBusinessDean@wittkieffer.com or reach out to a search committee member.

Fuentes named Tippie search committee co-chairs and members and named Amy Kristof-Brown as interim dean of Tippie in November.

The search committee is co-chaired by Amy Colbert, professor and department executive officer of management and entrepreneurship in the Tippie College of Business, and Alec Scranton, dean of the College of Engineering.

The committee selected the search firm Witt-Kieffer to assist with the process.
