The University of Iowa’s RAGBRAI Working Group is seeking volunteers to welcome RAGBRAI riders and campus guests on Friday, July 27.
Volunteers are needed to staff Ask Me! booths across campus, where they will visit with riders and guests, and provide way-finding assistance and information about campus open houses.
Volunteer shifts are two hours each and will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Booths will be placed at the Pentacrest, T. Anne Cleary Walkway, Hancher Auditorium, Kinnick Stadium, Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa Memorial Union, Main Library, Voxman Music Building, Field House, and Visual Arts Building
Volunteers will receive a UI T-shirt and will be asked to attend one of two orientation sessions:
- 4–4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, in 2520-D University Capitol Center
- Noon to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, in the Big Ten Theatre of the Iowa Memorial Union

Iowa City will be an overnight stop for RAGBRAI on Friday, July 27, and the UI RAGBRAI Working Group is tasked with showcasing campus and providing a warm welcome for visitors. RAGBRAI is the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. The annual event draws about 12,000 cyclists from around the world.
