Doug True, the University of Iowa’s former senior vice president for finance and operations and treasurer, will serve as the interim associate vice president and chief financial officer for University of Iowa Health Care, effective June 30, 2017, when current CFO Ken Fisher will retire.

True worked at the University of Iowa for 27 years, managing the university’s finances and serving as an advisor to four UI presidents. Following his retirement from the UI in 2015, True served as a consultant for University Operations. He first joined the UI staff in 1988 after working as the director of business and finance for the Board of Regents, State of Iowa. True received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the UI and an MBA from Drake University.

True will serve as interim CFO until a national search is conducted and a new leader begins work at UI Health Care.
