Fred Wollinsky, the John W. Colloton Chair in Health Management and Policy at the University of Iowa College of Public Health will receive an honorary doctorate from Friends University in recognition of his continued academic work and contributions to his field of study.

The degree will be presented during the university’s commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2017 on Saturday, May 13, in Wichita, Kansas. He will also deliver the commencement address to the graduating class.

Wollinsky received his bachelor’s degree from Friends in 1972.

Wolinsky has published in the fields of medicine, public health, epidemiology, geriatrics, gerontology, and health services research.
