The University of Iowa’s new Visual Arts Building was named “Best in the Midwest” for 2016. Winners were selected based on evidence of innovation, creative use of new technology, sustainability, strength of presentation, and great design.

The building, which opened in August, was designed by Steven Holl Architects.
