The South Capitol Street sidewalk will be closed from its intersection at West Washington Street (south side of the Pentacrest) stretching south along the east side of the Seamans Center from June 3 to July 11. During this time, the two east entrances of the Seamans Center will be closed.

Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of South Capitol Street (University Capitol Centre) and use either the north or west entrances of the Seamans Center as alternative routes.

The Washington Street sidewalk on the south side of the Pentacrest will be closed from its intersection with South Capitol Street west to South Madison Street from June 3 through Sept. 16. Pedestrians should use the Pentacrest sidewalks to South Madison Street and the sidewalk on the west side of South Madison Street as the alternate route.

In addition, a sidewalk repair project extends from the southwest corner of Schaeffer Hall to Washington Street, then east past the first set of bike racks. As a result, the crosswalk on the northwest corner of the University Capitol Centre will not be usable.

The South Madison Street sidewalk on the west side of the Pentacrest will be closed from the intersection of West Washington Street to the south set of the Pentacrest steps (near the intersection with Iowa Avenue) June 3 through Sept. 16. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the west side of South Madison Street as the alternate route.

The closures are necessary to install an electrical duct bank for new buildings on the arts campus.
